The idea for writing this blog stems from a good friend of mine who built a wine cellar in his basement.  Knowing that I am into wine, he asked me how he would go about stocking his new cellar with wines that can last but wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg.  I told him that that was more than a 5 minute conversation, and two hours later I sent him an email that became this first wineblog.  Enjoy, and I appreciate any and all comments.

Love the new format! It looks so official. Does this mean you have lost your amateur status? 🙂

  4. Karl, great to meet you at the St Olaf wine tasting. I totally dig this blog! Strangely enough, we have very similar tastes and drink a lot of the same wines. How wild! Bravo to you and this successful blog.

Love you your site, actually came upon it researching an answer to my question, of how many Master Sommelier are there and how many are women. I am attempting to organized a virtual wine tasting, something like Oprah’s book club, the goal is to drink 10,000 different wines with people around the world. Would you be interested? If you are I would to continue this conversation, if not you can just ignore this comment.
